Marou at the Zoo!

Marou at the Zoo!

Sunday marked Marou’s first public exhibition, as we inaugurated our stand in the central alley of Saigon Zoo where the crowd had come to enjoy a family day for a good cause: the 2011 edition of the Kermesse organized by Poussières de Vie, a charity helping disadvantaged kids in Ho Chi Minh City and in the Central Highlands near Pleiku.

On the menu for us: sun, fun and chocolate! Having anticipated the day could be hot (does it ever fall below 30°C in Saigon?), we had complemented our chocolate stock (kept in a fridge) with refreshing Cold Chocolate Drinks, Chocolate Cake and even a yummy Chocolate Fondue of pure melted chocolate on fresh fruits, all of which was made with our signature 76% cacao Ba Ria Couverture.

We had enrolled help from our Vietnamese friends, and there weren’t too many of us as we had to face crowds of curious and increasingly hungry spectators.

Our only regret is that the Direction of the Zoo decided at the last minute to cancel the classic car and bike show that should have been part of the day’s events, Marou was a collateral victim of this decision as we had conceived our display around a classic Citroen La Dalat car, that my 75 year old neighbor had lent us for the day… Well it looked fine anyway!
